Muay Thai—Finding Your Inner Warrior
Muay Thai is a form of martial art/kick boxing that can help people find strength through body movement. This is accomplished through somatic release. Somatic release comes from somatic therapy which is a form of holistic therapy, where the body and mind are one and can influence one another.
Used to treat all kinds of physical trauma, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), somatic therapy is the icing on top of the cake for some individuals. The human body can hold onto experiences such as trauma in the arms, legs, etc. and by engaging those areas, it helps release those emotions trapped inside.
Movement and sound therapies dominate the eastern world and can be very beneficial. Yoga is a common example, typically used as an exercise but also gives mental benefits. It has helped many individuals feel grounded in their own body and mind. Muay Thai is just another form that incorporates your body and mind. It can help people in a wonderful way engage their body in a healing process or connect their body and mind in a holistic experience.
