Obstacles Create Opportunity
The obstacles we presently face can be great opportunities for us to learn and grow. The key is to look at them as with a positive perspective. A certain amount of stress and pressure in life is inevitable. It is just part of life. To strive for a stress free life is not only unhealthy, but it can set yourself up for unrealistic expectations. Stress and pressure can harm us if we choose to do nothing about it. If we choose to look at these feelings as something positive, we can use them as fuel to accomplish excellent work.
No matter how many times you have failed at overcoming a certain obstacle, you cannot assume that your efforts are for nothing. Who knows, perhaps your next effort will be what it takes to finally break through that barrier! Don’t ever give up on yourself. Learn to look at obstacles as opportunities to grow. The only way to progress in life is to face and confront the things that are keeping us stuck. It will take courage, but it will be worth the effort. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus states: “No man ever steps into the same river twice because it is not the same river and he is not the same man.” Life is constantly changing from one moment to the next. Face your obstacles with persistence, courage and faith and in time you will overcome them!
The best way to face an obstacle is one small step at a time. A meaningful question to ask yourself is, “What small action step can I take right now that will initiate the process of change I am looking for?” At the end of the day, a man can choose to take control of his life or let his circumstances control him. Protect your energy and focus your mind on the task at hand. By doing so, you will find the power necessary to move forward. It’s up to you to create your destiny.
Change
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” -Socrates
Power of Thought
“For 30 years, I studied with great interest how the champion’s mind worked… After coaching 50 professional athletes and talking to dozens of corporate CEOs, I began to put it together. The true champion does very little unnecessary thinking…True champions think less but hold a thought for a longer period of time… fewer thoughts produce more results.” – Jim Fannin
Set Standards High
“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” -Michelangelo
