Have anxiety and feeling overwhelmed become your normal?
Often we get so consumed with our To-Do Lists, we forget what our ultimate priorities are. If you have been powering through to reach a goal, yet find yourself burned out along the way, it is time to look at what is most important in your life and reignite your passion.
A To-Live List is simply a collection of moments of joy, wishes, and goals you want to experience in your life. It is not just a bucket list, but also a collection of things you would love to experience in your life more frequently. It is a gentle reminder to still get excited about every day and find enjoyment out of the simplest things in life.
When faced with anxiety or feelings of being overwhelmed, write down all of the things that would bring you happiness in the present moment. Whether big or small, write down the experiences you want to have and the aspects of the life you want to live. It doesn’t have to be a complete list, but a basis of ideas of things that bring you joy and make your life worth living.
Afterward, read your To-Live List out loud. How does it make you feel? Does it make you excited? Did it put a smile on your face? If yes, it has fulfilled its purpose. Then think about the goals you are actively working towards and how your To-Live List fit into your current life. If there is no overlap, how can you change them to fit your goals?
Some To-Live List items may be easy to cross off, some may take longer to realize. Revisit your To-Live List often to redirect and reconnect yourself with your what and why needed to make your dreams a reality.
